A lot of people ask me what to eat for breakfast...

Here is an example of one of my routine's for good eating in the morning.

I often exercise in the morning because I feel better and my metabolism is better all day when rev it up with moderate exercise the first part of the day. I do this before I eat. Also, people do not always get to their exercise when they leave it until later.

Because of the exercise, my muscles need some protein to rebuild so I use a big scoop or two of clean whey and or vegan rice protein powder. Often, one or two free range eggs from local farmer's are best. Omega 3's in the form of freshly ground chia or flax seeds and omega 6 from pumpkin, sunflower or sesame seeds, depending on what in the mood for or what I have on hand. Sometimes, I will use organic canned coconut milk or not, but it is a great taste and adds to a nice consistency. I add lecithin granules to help keep arteries clean and good for the brain. I love to add powdered organic greens and I am set. Can add wheat germ, bee pollen, brewer's yeast as other options.

The above can all be thrown in a blender or you can use a hand blender like many use for mashed potatoes that makes the clean-up much faster. For extra richness and to sustain you longer, can add sesame tahini, peanut butter, cashew butter or almond butter, 3/4 frozen banana or other.

I put all this in 16-32 ounces of alkaline water and am good to go! This often sustains me until late morning or lunch time and is easy to assimilate and is power-packed with great nutrition.

ABC presented a story in April that relates well... Children in Chicago having challenges with reading and math started exercising before school and their reading scores doubled and math scores were up by a factor of twenty. Add a nouriishing breakfast and the sky is the limit.

Beats the heck out of Captain Crunch or Coco Puffs and endless TV and video games.

Food for thought:)

Have a great week,

Steve
